Tucked within the quieter corner of Pondok Indah Plaza, this cafe offers a relaxed spot for those looking to enjoy a calm break with solid coffee and light meals. Visitors often come here for the well-made coffee and a selection of teas, pairing their drinks with simple yet flavorful dishes like sandwiches and pasta. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, with enough space for solo diners who want to work on their laptops as well as groups meeting up for brunch or casual dinners.
The seating includes a mix of indoor and outdoor options, making it easy to find a spot whether you’re in the mood for fresh air or a cozy nook. It’s a practical choice for those nearby, especially since parking and accessibility are straightforward. The crowd tends to be a blend of university students, local residents, and professionals who appreciate a spot that’s not overly crowded or noisy.
While the food portions lean towards the lighter side and prices are on the higher end, the quality tends to be consistent, especially when it comes to coffee and some standout savory options. The dessert selection could feel a bit limited if you’re hoping for variety, but those who favor a simple lemon pound cake or a quick sweet bite usually find it satisfying. Service is friendly, though sometimes pace and attentiveness vary, which can affect the overall dining rhythm.
Overall, it’s a quietly trendy cafe suited for anyone spending a morning, afternoon, or early evening in the Pondok Indah area looking for a laid-back spot with decent food and drinks, without the hustle of busier parts of South Jakarta.

"Great foods n beverages, really nice ambience n vibes, super friendly staff"
"Great food, excellent service, and a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere."
"Cozy and relaxing place for late lunch or just coffee with family and friends."
4 The venue is quite nice—spacious and comfortable. However, the food and beverages could be improved. For the relatively high prices, the portions provided are too small. The coffee is delicious, and I really enjoyed it. The food is also tasty, but again, the portions are too small considering the price. I hope this can be improved in the future. On a positive note, the service here is friendly and very satisfying.
4 Food was good. But latte was not hot enough…They should have more variety of dessert and pastry.
4 The pasta was amazing, the pizza was amazing, yet it was the coffee I would like to complain about. Since there was no significant taste in Americano I ordered, I would rather to try their non-coffee drinks than their coffee. The second was the service itself. More trainings are gonna be required as the way they managed our table calls were pretty slow. Apart from those, I love this place. Just be careful as sometimes they were full-booked at a certain hour.
4 Decent brunch place in South Jakarta. There are plenty of better options in South Jakarta. Bottom line, i would come here because this is near my house and plenty and easy parking. After eating here more than 10x, i can say: - not all food items are created equal. True standouts for me were the chicken avocado sandwich, chicken pesto rosso, truffle fries, breakfast burrito. rest are….just ok - the pastries are bad. Sorry, i tried multiple times, gave it a chance, just….no. Pls improve this part, else ure falling behind from 100 other brucnh spots in Jakarta.. - coffee here is reliable and delicious. Flavor profile lean towards fruitier taste but still enjoyable - don’t order matcha here. regular matcha latte here is not recommended. U gotta go with ceremonial grade if you want decent matcha.
5 I ::heart:: Common Grounds. I think their coffee needs no explanation, top notch. I also love their lemon pound cake which I can't find in any other café. Pricey? Yes but absolutely worth it. Also the staff is awesome, makes you always feel welcome.
4 Common grounds is a premium coffee shop, put that in mind. The coffee always good and it's priced as what you expected, while the pastry was on the higher side..
5 I went here on Saturday noon after i had lunch in another place. Recommended cafe to work on weekend or hang out with friends. This place has 2 floors with large window design because its location at the corner, lots of parking, and friendly staff. This cafe serves main meal for brunch, lunch, dinner, also they have croissants and of course variety of coffee. l ordered hot coffee latte, peanut butter and j croissant, and hot large cappuccino. All was perfect. In another time, i tried other meals and drink also, such as Thai beef steak for lunch, nachos, ice mocha, english breakfast tea.. again, all was perfect.
4 Common ground located in Pondok Indah Plaza 2, infront of Kari Umbi. There are 2 floors, the bottom floor with square tables and sweets display, suitable for coffee time. And the upper floor provides bigger tables setting, suitable for dining. The interior was modern but cozy. Designed beautifully. But unfortunately, the seating was not comfortable for a long period of time setting. We went there on two different occasions: for dining & coffee time. We ordered: Naked burrito bowl - a bit tasteless for me. Need more spices. Phil's fried chicken -this one was my favorite. The chicken was crispy, the sauce was flavorful, served on a hotplate, with chips on the side Cheese sandwich - i think it's a temporary menu. Need more seasoning, a bit bland for me. Magnum dessert - i forgot the name of the dessert but it was too sweet for us. For coffee time: Egg tart croissant - the egg filling was soft with a creme brulee like texture. The croissant was too thin for me. Thicker pastry would balance the filling better. Burnt butter twist roll - we could taste the burnt flavor, but the roll was a bit dry. Boston cream eclair - the filling was too dense and just too ordinary tasting for me. But what i like about common ground is that they served: Perfect coffee everytime. Always consistent on their coffee. The menu was a bit overwhelming. Too many choices. Sometimes simple menu is better than 50+ pages of menu to flip through.
The coffee is highly praised, especially the lemon pound cake and specialties like the chicken avocado sandwich and truffle fries.
It suits both quick stops and relaxed sit-down meals, with options for breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner.
Yes, the café is cozy and casual with good seating for solo diners and working on laptops.
Common Grounds welcomes groups and families, offering a casual and comfortable environment for all.
They offer outdoor seating, wheelchair-accessible spaces, table service, and accept various card and NFC payments.
While no specific hours are provided, visiting outside typical meal times may offer a more relaxed experience.
